About Your Next Job
As a Bioinformatics System Administrator, you play a key role in both data analysis and the optimization of bioinformatics infrastructure. You will:
- Perform bioinformatics analyses for commercial projects and manage timelines
- Develop and optimize pipelines and tools, including code review and testing
- Maintain and improve Linux-based bioinformatics infrastructure (HPC)
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with external partners
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with standards
- Drive continuous improvements and support knowledge sharing within the team
About Your Skills and Experience
To ensure a good match, we kindly ask that you only apply if you meet the following essential criteria:
- You have completed a Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics or related field, plus 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Strong experience with Linux (including system administration and HPC environments)
- Proficiency in programming/scripting (e.g. Python, R, or similar)
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and NGS data analysis
- Hands-on experience with pipeline development (e.g. Nextflow)
- Familiarity with GIT version control and software development best practices
- Understanding of data security, quality standards, and validation processesYou are based within 35 km from our Leiden office
