Data analysis for commercial projects is done within the bioinformatics team. These projects are either standardized, using our in-house optimized pipelines to perform mass analyses, or customized, where a novel approach to the data-analyses needs to be thought out and performed. Besides, the bioinformatics team is also responsible for maintenance of our internal (meta)genomics and transcriptomics pipelines and databases and for the set-up of new products together with our Product Development team.
In this role, you will be part of the bioinformatics team. As a lead, your focus will lie mostly with novel projects, analysing and reporting customized commercial requests and setting up new services for us to offer to our clients. The work is very varied due to the different nature of our commercial projects and the wide range of products we offer. About Your Skills and Experience
To ensure a good match, we kindly ask that you only apply if you meet the following essential criteria:
- You carry a Master´s degree in Bioinformatics, plus at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
- You have solid knowledge of Python and Bach/ Linux.
- You have in-depth experience with NGS data processing.
- If you have additional experience of (microbial) genomics, R, NextFlow, Biostatistics as well as an understanding of laboratory management and quality systems, we see this as a benefit.
- You are eligible to work in the Netherlands and already live within 35 km from our Leiden office.
To be successful in this role, you come with certain characteristics. You are a quality-oriented individual who manages deadlines. You have attention for detail and are able to work independently.
