Who are we?
GenomeScan is a service provider of innovative DNA and RNA analyses. We offer fast, affordable, and high-quality patient diagnostics, which are crucial for identifying disease causes and supporting individual treatment plans. We also undertake projects for research groups and clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
We take on a diverse range of challenging projects using advanced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques, including Whole Genome, Exome, and Gene-panel Sequencing, RNA- and Methyl sequencing, and various bioinformatics pipelines. Our laboratory is equipped with the latest Illumina, PacBio, Ion Torrent, and Nanopore sequencers, as well as robotic systems for automated sample processing. GenomeScan complies with international quality standards and holds ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
What will you do?
You will use data analysis metrics to help the Marketing & Sales departments in their understanding of the market, audience, and targets. By ways of turning complex data, market insights, and strategy into clear, compliant actions that improve decision-making and drive sustainable brand and portfolio performance.
You will:
- Construct a project proposal with clear endpoints.
- Analyze current marketing activities, platforms, and target groups; including gathering information from the Sales department.
- (Re)develop and update the target audience, including segmentation and clear customer personas.
- Create a competitive landscape analysis and identify content gaps/opportunities.
- Create content based on research and deliver an improvement plan.
About Your Skills and Experience
What do we ask for?
- Bachelor or Master student in Life Sciences (Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Biology or similar) with an interest in Marketing & Business Analysis.
- You are available to start from September 2026 (minimum internship duration of 6 months).
- Affinity with Communication and Content Creation is an advantage.
- An interest in genetics is a plus.
- Proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing; Dutch is a plus.
- Willing and able to work on-site (Leiden).
