GATT-technologies, a Johnson & Johnson Company is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician located in Nijmegen.
Summary of Role:
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform the maintenance and calibration work, line support, troubleshooting and correction, participate in project support and continued improvement, maintain WO and Maximo.
About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Maintenance and Calibration work
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration according to the individual weekly schedule.
- Carry out maintenance work properly and timely to ensure equipment is ready to operate at optimum levels at all times.
- Perform corrective maintenance on equipment.
- Participate in the creation and updating of calibration plan.
- Participate in the creation and updating of FMEAs, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting plans.
- Calculate calibration uncertainties, with or without metrological support, for new equipment or upgrades.
- Equipment Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities in accordance with GMP and company standards.
- Update equipment logs, calibration certificates, and technical manuals.
- Perform data entry and close work orders with detailed failure descriptions and corrective actions.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Monitor and control spare parts stock levels, initiate purchase requests when needed.
- Ensure critical spare parts are available to minimize downtime.
- Participate in organizing and optimizing the spare parts storage area.
- Line support
- Provide active support to production lines to achieve objectives.
- Participate in the Operator Asset Care program (preparing work instructions, training operators)
- Ensure the flawless operation of equipment safety devices.
- Troubleshooting and Correction
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to resolve equipment/process issues.
- Implement a structured investigation approach to identify and eliminate the root cause of equipment failures.
- Support maintenance and calibration nonconformances.
- Consider the quality impact of all maintenance interventions on products.
- Project support and continued improvement
- Participate in new equipment installation and commissioning, and related validation work.
- Identify and implement improvement programs /activates to drive better compliance and equipment performance, participate in equipment improvement projects.
- Recommend process or equipment improvements based on data.
- Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
- Support site automation.
- Others
- Proper use of eCMMS system (Maximo), maintaining WO in Maximo system in a timely and compliant manner.
- Maintain good 5S in related area.
- Maintain an acceptable level of tidiness and cleanliness in maintenance areas (workshop, stockroom, offices) and in production areas during and after maintenance (work area, equipment).
- Support and respond to other functions (production / quality / EHS…) equipment related request, include but not limited to: equipment maintenance request, equipment improvement, issue investigation/resolving, operator training, validation, audit, etc.
- Responsible for communicating any problems or opportunities related to the activity to their direct supervisor.
- Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area.
- Participate in safety risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance and help train others.
- Participate in incident/near-miss reporting and corrective actions
- Follow J&J Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training.
- Follow GMP requirements.
- Work with the team to ensure all aspects of the business remain compliant and, in an audit, ready state.
- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
About Your Skills and Experience
Qualifications/Experience
- Junior College degree or above in mechanical, electrical, automation engineering, etc.
- 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and calibration area.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/ or medical device industry preferred.
- Bilingual: Fluency in English is required, second language Dutch is preferred.
- GMP/ ISO knowledge preferred.
- Advance technical training in area(s) of expertise preferred. Certificate electrician is preferred.
