About Your Next Job
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Master’s student with a strong interest in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology. You understand the fundamentals of cell line engineering, and now we want you to apply that knowledge to develop next-generation production systems using transposon-based technologies.
About Your Next Colleagues
You will join ProteoNic in Leiden and become part of our R&D team, contributing to cutting-edge approaches for stable cell line generation and controlled gene expression.
About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Cell Line Generation Using Transposon Technology: Design and generate stable mammalian cell lines using transposon-based systems, focusing on efficient genomic integration and expression stability.
Inducible System Development & Testing: Develop and evaluate inducible expression systems to control gene expression levels, optimizing for performance and reproducibility.
Molecular Cloning & Vector Design: Assist in designing and constructing plasmids and transposon vectors, including cloning strategies for gene-of-interest integration.
Virus Production Support: Contribute to viral vector production workflows (e.g., lentiviral systems) to support comparative delivery strategies.
Data Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyze experimental data and troubleshoot issues related to transfection efficiency, expression variability, and cell viability.
About Your Skills and Experience
Education: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related field.
The Science: You have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and ideally some exposure to viral vector production or gene delivery systems.
The Skills: You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in the lab. You can interpret experimental data and adapt protocols when needed.
Language: Fluent in English.
Location & Visa: You are currently based in the Netherlands and have the legal right to intern here.
