About Your Next Job
In this role, you supports the successful installation, onboarding, and ongoing use of new sequencing equipment in our laboratory. You will work closely with our scientists, technical staff, and the vendor to ensure the equipment is set up correctly, users are trained, and workflows are smoothly integrated into routine operations.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:

Serve
as the primary internal contact during equipment installation.

Assist
in documenting instrument workflows, usage guidelines, and best practices
provided by the vendor.

Support
colleagues in understanding how to operate the equipment.

Perform
routine checks and report any issues to the vendor and coordinate
troubleshooting.

Maintain
quality compliant documentation of installation records, instrument manuals,
training materials etc.

About Your Skills and Experience
To ensure a good match, we kindly ask that you only apply if you meet the following essential criteria:
- You carry a PhD degree in molecular biology or a related field, plus 5 years relevant work experience.
- You have extensive experience with setting up new protocols and methods.
- You have extensive experience with Next-Generation sequencing technologies.
- You have experience in lab equipment installation.
- You have experience handling microbial metagenome samples.
- You preferably have experience with sequencing installations.
- Your English is at C1 level, speaking Dutch is a preference.
- You live within 35 km from our Leiden office.
To be successful in this role, you come with certain characteristics. You are a result-oriented, proven socially skilled and energetic person. You have a constant drive to make things better and are always focused on solutions.
