About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Track and organize strain engineering cycles across external partners
- Review and document DNA sequences, coding regions, plasmid architecture, and vector maps
- Support evaluation of plasmid designs, including promoters, tags, secretion strategies, selectable markers, and cloning logic
- Maintain structured records of strain backgrounds, construct variants, expression strategies, and testing plans
- Coordinate with external strain-design teams, CDMOs, and analytical partners
- Collect, organize, and summarize data from microbial growth and fermentation runs
- Prepare technical summaries covering vector design, sequence versions, yields, media, buffer conditions, and process notes
- Organize downstream processing and analytical reports
- Build and maintain project trackers for milestones, design updates, pending questions, and next actions
- Translate technical findings into clear internal updates and management-ready summaries
About Your Skills and Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a BSc or MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Protein Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field
- Familiar with E. coli expression systems and basic molecular biology workflows
- Comfortable reading and interpreting DNA sequences, plasmid maps, and construct designs
- Understands the fundamentals of strain engineering, recombinant protein expression, and vector-based design logic
- Highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented
- Proactive, reliable, and able to manage multiple parallel tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working with different stakeholders and external partners
- Positive, hands-on, and eager to learn
- Currently based in the Netherlands and legally allowed to intern in the Netherlands
