About Your Next Job
MIMETAS is looking for a full-time Junior Bioengineer, to join our TechCore team in Leiden, The Netherlands. You will play a critical role in validating modifications to existing products, generating data, and producing new prototypes.

About Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Your tasks will include
· Perform initial testing on new prototypes and develop/validate new assays to assess product quality, performance, and efficacy;
· Perform basic mammalian cell culture assays, including cell seeding and microscopy, to support prototype validation;
· Investigate outcomes from the QC process, perform root-cause analysis, and troubleshoot technical issues in close collaboration with product engineers and scientists;
· Assist in translating early-stage R&D concepts into physical prototypes using the OrganoPlate® platform, collaborating with senior engineers to optimize cleanroom fabrication techniques and verify design performance;
· Take ownership of your projects and as part of the broader team help with project planning and management of your aspects of the project;
· Work in a cleanroom environment to fabricate OrganoPlate prototypes and manage cleanroom operations (including ordering and stock management);
· Contributing to the development of new project proposals.
About Your Skills and Experience
Your profile
· You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field;
· You possess an engineering/problem-solving mindset, with a strong ability to break down problems to their core principles;
· You have an understanding of, or practical experience with, mammalian cell culture (experience with microphysiological systems or 3D cell culture is a plus);
· You are analytical, detail-oriented and well-organized;
· You enjoy working independently while being a friendly, motivated team player;
· You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
