About Your Next Job

At MAT Research, we're transforming how the pharmaceutical industry tests for pyrogens. For decades, animal-based testing has been the standard. We're helping replace it with faster, more reliable human cell-based methods that improve patient safety while reducing the need for animal testing.

Since 2016, we've been developing and commercialising the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT), combining scientific excellence, regulatory quality and ethical innovation to help shape the future of pharmaceutical quality control. We believe innovation and scientific rigour go hand in hand. Every experiment, every process and every product we develop is driven by quality, precision and the desire to improve patient safety. If you're excited by meaningful science and want to see your work make a real impact, you'll feel at home here.

About Your Next Colleagues

You'll join a close-knit team of scientists, technicians, and specialists who genuinely enjoy solving complex scientific challenges together. As a growing company of around a dozen people, everyone contributes beyond their job title. We value curiosity, collaboration and ownership just as much as technical expertise, and every person has the opportunity to make a visible impact. Here, you'll have the opportunity to: Help shape the future of ethical pharmaceutical testing. Work on science that directly improves patient safety. Collaborate in an environment where ideas matter. Take ownership rather than simply follow established processes. Grow alongside a company redefining an entire industry.

About Your Tasks and Responsibilities

As our Logistics & Maintenance Manager, you'll play a central role in keeping our laboratory and facility operations running seamlessly. You'll bridge supply chain precision with hands-on lab maintenance and facility oversight—managing cold-chain transport for biological materials, overseeing liquid nitrogen (LN2) infrastructure, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring our office and lab environments empower the scientific team to deliver world-class pyrogen testing.

What You'll Do

- Manage international and domestic cold-chain shipments, biological sample transport, and customs compliance.

- Oversee inventory management, receiving, inspection, and appropriate storage of lab supplies and reagents.

- Manage Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) infrastructure, supply levels, safety protocols, and cryogenic storage.

- Coordinate lab equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, servicing, and emergency repair workflows.

- Manage vendor relationships and service-level agreements for both lab facilities and general office supplies.

- Oversee day-to-day office management and facility upkeep at the Leiden Bio Science Park.

About Your Skills and Experience

- Practical background in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Supply Chain, or Facility Management.

- Basic understanding of biosafety standards and handling temperature-sensitive biological materials.

- Experience managing cold-chain logistics (+2°C to +8°C, Dry Ice, LN2) and hazardous/biological shipping protocols.

- Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, procurement, and facility maintenance workflows.

About Your Benefits

- Competitive salary.

- 25 vacation days plus Dutch public holidays.

- Pension contribution.

- Commuting allowance.

- The opportunity to grow your career alongside a rapidly growing biotech company.

- A collaborative, supportive team where your work has real impact.

Where Molecules Meet Opportunities

You enjoy working in a collaborative laboratory environment. Take ownership and enjoy working independently while collaborating closely with your team. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, growing company. Want to make a measurable contribution to patient safety.

Working at MAT Research means contributing to something much bigger than yourself. Every improvement you make helps pharmaceutical companies deliver safer medicines while reducing the need for animal testing and because we're a small, growing company, you'll see the direct impact of your ideas every day.

We have developed an improved Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) for pyrogen testing. The MAT serves as the replacement for the Rabbit Pyrogen Test and can be used to test parenteral drugs for endotoxin and non-endotoxin contaminations. Our technology uses cryopreserved pooled PBMC. This has made it possible to develop a MAT with both high sensitivity and robustness, ensuring reliability in the field.
